Self-Studying is Not a Joke!
Accounting
is my profession, yet writing is my passion. This is a kind of thing
which I regret why I didn’t take literature during my schooling life.
I
live with my passion while making a living with my profession, but all I
wanted in my life is living and making living with my passion.
In short, I am willing to give up my profession for the sake of my passion.
Then, I decided to do self-study.
I
fuel myself by reading, writing and communicating fellow writers. I
thought it is easier than taking a course in college with a professor
who graded you, who pressures you for assignments and who insults when
you can’t easily catch up, but I am totally wrong.
Self-studying is not a joke!
I
thought a self-study is like a salad in your fridge that when you want
to eat anytime then you can. I thought it is like reading a novel which
nobody forcing you to read ’til the end of the story. I thought it is as
easy as learning how lacing a shoe.
But, it isn’t as easy as that;
The
truth is self-study is investing your time and dwelling the core of
your brain just for learning. It undergoes thorough research from the
vocabulary, writing skills or even until self-motivation. It needs too
much effort and self-discipline. It is not only by touching a technical
matter but also training in handling your emotion for incoming critics.
It’s
already nine months since I’m giving a chance for learning by myself.
It’s already nine months since I’m fighting my ups and downs confidence.
And, it’s already nine months for staying in my room at night and does
reading and writing instead of staying in a living room and watch on
programs in TV. It’s already nine months of sacrificing for the sake of
learning.
For these nine months of a journey, I may hypocrite if I say I never learned.
Yes, I learned.
If
you already know me nine months ago, maybe you can also see my
progress. The ideas are immense easily after nine months of training the
muscles of my brain. Though my confidence is inconsistent yet, but my
courage knows how to stand when confidence becomes weak. There is an
improvement about balancing the technical and emotional matter.
The
good thing about self-studying is that I love what I’m doing. Since I
love it, I run after the learning that I may learn in my journey.
In self-study, there is something a glue between you and lessons which you love keeping every information.
“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it.”
